Monaghan County Council was the lead partner in this project which is in conjunction with Fermanagh District Council, Blackwater Regional Partnership and Clones Development Society. The project was awarded €1.68m.

The project developed tourist and civic amenities in Clones and enhanced access and interpretation to Heritage sites. In addition to this, the project involved the development of angling sites and public walkways and trails in the wider Clones Erne East catchment area so as to develop the area as a natural resource tourism destination.

The Monaghan element of the project focused on Clones and seeked to develop a Playground, car park, streetscape works, heritage signage, improve restaurant facilities in the Canal stores and provide angling stands in the wider Clones area.

The Fermanagh element of the project focused on the development of circular walking routes and eco-trails in the Slieve Beagh area, and provided an angling infrastructure at selected lakes.
